Emulation

Now I'll attempt to emulate larksome Linda...

With a baby on my lap and a smile in my belly,
these four days, a recap, attempting to tell ye;

Twas Saturday morning and Tony was slaving
to solve a motorhome problem before we be leaving
This Wednesday, for a wonderous, welcome five-day
33rd anniversay weekend to play.

But I had my agenda, great things to do,
Laundry, sweep the porch, a little shopping, too.
So off to Eagle Hardware, his birthday certificates he gave me,
(Just one more reason it's number 33).
"Do you think you could use these for that trellis you need?"
A trellis, new sprinkler, I dawdled, no speed.
A beautiful hydrangea was my last selection,
Then homeward I raced with my exciting collection.
The trellis installed for a jasmine to climb on;
The laundry and porch sweeping easily done.
Then to call Connie for hydrangea advice,
and talking to Connie is always so nice.
(Tony's still slaving, and stressing a little,
when problems stick around like old peanut brittle)
But I'm off to removing the crop of new grass
And making a spot for the "Hydrangea Class".
He drives to G.I. Joes, five or six runs;
I visit the neighbor when gardening is done.
My day is spent lollygagging around...
It's time for bed; his problem's not found.

On Sunday he tackles it with a mental clenched fist
While I'm mentally compiling my vacation list.
A movie, crocheting, a nice Sunday dinner,
And finally, good news, Tony's the winner!!!

On Monday, time to get all the things ready
We'll need for food, snacks, drinks...a steady
supply of towels and other essential stuff;
vitamins and minerals aren't really enough
When going away to pamper our mind,
Get a little crazy and try to unwind.
Finally, 11:00 p.m., time to rest,
Still so much to do, we're put to the test.
Will we ever get it done in time to vacation?
Stay tuned for Monday, Part 2 of this recitation!!!

Love to you all, and then some,

dee
