A Day In My Life

Hey ya'll I just gotta get a message to you!!
For a stressful week a laugh is the coo
You all know I'm nuts so this I'll gladly do
Rhyme a little poorly for a giggle or two

I woke up this morning before the alarm
5:24 my eyes opened wide, one cup of coffee can do me no harm
I made it to work the telephone was ringing
Jumped in with both feet, there's no time for singing

The day just whizzed by, as so often they do
With plays for the young ones and meeting the crew
Then counselors from Waldo to meet the 5th grade
and finding a room for all is why I get paid

Before we all new it the lunch crew came through
Then kids for the medicines, and band aids too
Ice packs and temperatures, what's next I implore
phone calls, and reports and parents galore

Then payroll, and banking were next on the list
No time for laughing or doing the twist
The clock on the wall just kept ticking away
No time to gossip and certainly no play

When the day ended, I sure breathed a sigh
for now it was home to the grandkids I'd fly
There is something in seeing them, I do not know why
but after they leave me I'm still flying high

I know your all thinking, when will this end
I promise you one thing, this letter I'll send
You all are so special, you make my heart sing
I'm hoping you know it, without saying a thing

pleasures.. This not
being one of them lol... Night all
