"New Kitten for a Birthday Girl??"
You ask for stories form Hawaii? Hmmmm....
Well, there was once a little girl who had a birthday. She turned five. For her birthday, her mommy wanted to get her a kitten, but when her daddy called from Alaska where his submarine had pulled in and her mommy asked him if it was ok, he said no. The mommy was worried about what to get the little girl for her birthday, she wanted it to be special since daddy was so far away. The mommy talked to the little girl's uncle and told him that if she got a kitten for her birthday she would be the happiest little girl in the world. The uncle was very wise, he said she would be happy no matter what she got, besides, litterboxes are very messy. So the little girl got some new sandals and a care bear for her birthday. She was VERY HAPPY. Then, the day after her birthday, her mommy got an email from her daddy saying that he changed his mind, and to take the kids to the Humane Society and give them away - just kidding - although there are moments when that doesn't sound like such a bad idea! What he said was to take the kids to the Hawaii Humane Society and let them each pick out a pet. WELL, three pets all at once sounded like a little too much for the mommy to handle. So she emailed the daddy back and said "how about one kitten for our whole family to share, and let's wait 'till you get home so I'm not chasing our two year old around the Humane Society going crazy." The mommy has not yet heard back from the daddy, so the story is not over yet. I'll keep you posted!
